Title: NVisionIP and VisFlowConnect: Two Interactive Tools for Visualizing
Network Flow for Security
Abstract:
This talk looks at two tools that have been developed to help security engineers
gain situational awareness of their network.
NVisionIP and VisFlowConnect, tools developed at the National Center for Supercomputing
Applications at the University of Illinois, use the information present in NetFlows
to create a visualization of a Class B network. The tools allow security engineers
to use their background knowledge and intuition along with a computers ability
to rapidly display visualizations, in order to gain situational awareness of
the network. In addition, NVisionIP and VisFlowConnect provide filtering/drill-down
capabilities that will accord security engineers
greater information about the network.
