Topic: Visualization Tools for BGP Stability Analysis

Abstract: The dynamic behavior of Internet routing is a subject of much interest. Routing stability affects the performance
of the Internet. Analyzing BGP AS path updates may reveal problems in certain routers, links, or BGP itself. This talk presents some visualization tools we developed to help users to analyze BGP AS path update messages. We describe some observations and insights gained from using the tools. Effective analysis of data is the first step towards understanding the dynamic Internet routing behavior, discovering problems, and building a more stable and secure routing system.
