Deploying IP Telephony in an Enterprise and the Vulnerabilities that Come With It
This talk will provide an introduction to IP telephony services in enterprise style environments. Problems related to deployment will be discussed and previously proposed architectural solutions will be covered. A large portion of the time will be spent covering the various categories of vulnerabilities present in converged networks and counter-measure technologies that can be used to reduce the impact of the vulnerabilities. The final topic included in the talk is an overview of a new framework created to detect and respond to various denial of service attacks in converged networks. The framework allows detection of attacks launched either from data networks (e.g. Internet) or circuit switched networks (e.g. PSTN).
