Title: "Trust Models for Distributed Information Systems"
Abstract: Cyber trust, cyber security, and trust management
are rapidly gaining interest -- even outside the security research community
-- as more of everyday life involves some form of dependence on increasingly
interconnected information systems. One of the fundamental challenges faced
in each of these topics is representing the human notion of "trust".
This talk will survey existing trust models, detail a model developed here at
UC Davis for representing trust in a mediated query system, and conclude with
a discussion of the challenges/open issues associated with modeling trust in
a distributed information system.
